Crystal Tokyo Met Gala - Michiru Kaioh

@crystaltokyometgala is a little fandom project where everyone is encourage to create “high fashion” looks for a Sailor Moon character under the guise of it being for the annual Crystal Tokyo Met Gala. 2021 theme is Dreams and Eternity.

Since I started this project, I’m determined to draw at least all main characters in a look to match the theme.

This is probably my favorite design of the bunch. I wanted to meld the idea of the ocean being eternal and Michiru’s passion for painting and design a big tulle dress modeled after The Great Wave off Kanagawa. To play into the piece’s Japanese origin, I included an obi at the mid section.
